Ruth Mack was born on August 3, 1925, to the union of James and Julie Brooks. She departed this life and entered eternal rest on August 12, 2026.

Ms. Mack was a spirited mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother whose presence was unforgettable. Known for her feisty nature, sharp wit, and honest words, she spoke her mind plainly and left no doubt about where she stood. Her strength, humor, and unmistakable voice will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. She was the oldest member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She  worked for Frigidaire and retired from GM Bus and Truck.  Ms. Mack loved the finer things in life especially clothes. She was one of the best dressed ladies in Dayton

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Daniels; seven brothers; and two sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories - children, Judith Perkins, Cheryl Williams, Brenda Slaughter (Reginald), and Sandra Mack (Sam); stepchildren, Gloria Harris and Larry Mack (Barbara); 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; close friends, Cozy Smith, Sharon Smith and  Lula Farris and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We are also deeply grateful to the many nurses at Fidelity Health Care, all of whom helped immensely with Ruth’s care.


Visitation will be held from 11:00 a. m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 p. m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 27 N. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45417. Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to gather for a repast at Macedonia Baptist Church to share memories and break bread together. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2026 at Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson-Brown Funeral Services.
